Thoughts for Fall [and a really excited girl]

A few clicks on the Internet, and I was led to this picture:

With this caption:

"Learning a new computer program was both frustrating and fun for first-grader Kylea Devoy in Robyn Wells' New Harmony School class in New Harmony, Ind., on Oct. 27."

Good grief, that made my day.

-------------------------------------------------

More than any other season, Fall reminds me to take a deep breath, and to enjoy each and every moment. I don't always do this well. A lot of the time I hurry through the season, anxious to see and process all that these few months have to offer. I worry that I will blink and the colored trees will suddenly be bare. I worry that Winter will rush in and freeze my spirit. I worry that the New Year will begin, again, and so many things will still seem untouched on my life's to-do list.

I worry and worry and worry.

Fall reminds me that worrying is pointless; that while I worry, life faithfully keeps on spinning in gracious circles.

Fall reminds me to keep my eyes fixed on red leaves, and to look for some beauty in the bare branches.

Fall reminds me that even when a really good season ends, and an unknown and cold season looms, that worrying is futile, and that breathing in and out with each moment is all that we can really do.
